Hey,
Citation:
Honestly, I highly doubt that a specie like the droons, which is so socially violent (since they abandon their own children to live among trash and eat junks) could reach a level of development sufficient for space expansion.
That is correct. And actually they didn't. They got technology from humans, so your guessing was right. Not sure, if this information is included in the current demo though.
Citation:
it would be nice if the PM were only consumed when the mod is actually activated.
Not sure, whether I have thought about this before, but it seems like an interesting idea. However I need to think through this carefully. Sometimes there was a reason for doing stuff in a certain way and I just forgot about it. Thanks.
Sociophobia fight: It's a bit of a difficult situation, because if you are critically underleveled in Leviu, then you might actually get stuck, if you don't have AP to learn long distance attack. That's why for the full version I'm planning on making it possible to leave Leviu in between events and to be able to level up.
The damage dealt by majesty depends on 2 factors:
1. giving in or not giving in.
It's kind if a reverse logic, I guess, which is admittedly not understandable to the player, so he has to find out by trying. However, the logic is, that sociophobia sort of repesents Ramirez' fear of women and his inability to let them any near to him (that was probably phrased horribly, sorry ^^'). So, not giving in strengthens this issue and thus sociophobia deals more damage. At least for me, this makes kind of sense.
Btw: "Majesty"is named after a beautiful song by Warpaint.
You might say, that not giving in brings him closer to his illness/depression, whatever. Thats way a path emerges and he can reach it without distance attacks (maybe not everyone finds that out, either) and also Ramirez gets angry and his fury bar fills. But, when he uses the chance of attacking directly, hes getting a depression status, too.
So, if you wanna avoid the higher damage, you should give in. Yet, it prevents Sociophobia of being "stunned".
2. it depends on the how many of the 5 "shadows" you defeated. Every one of them makes it 10% stronger.
Also sorry, that you were surprised by the battle. I know it's a common strategy to design battles sort of "non destructive", so you could just try a battle again, when you lose. Although it seems to be sort of state of the art and would be easy to implement, I'm not sure how I feel about it. I've already removed save points, which I don't regret at all. But is a certain element of danger or suprise not what we want in a game? Guess, it's a question of what's your philosophy.
Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and especially the bug reports. It's really warming my heart and highly motivates me.

Hey,
sorry, for scaring you. ^^
In case you have any specific question, feel free to join our discord: https://discord.gg/vCgjHP ... or drop me an email: heck0r@gmail.com
1. Grab-Jumps. On the jumps where Ramirez used to grab automatically, it now has to be manually by the player.
2. Character graphics. All Charset graphics of the main characters have been remastered. That was around 200 poses, I guess.
3. Loading after bomb jumps. If you miss a bomb jump and run into the bomb, then you dont have to go through the main menu to the load screen. Instead it's being called automatically which will make this a bit more convenient for those who struggle with the jumps.
4. The Bull's Eye part of the "Damage Trigger" was shortened. For the player this mostly has the consquence, that he gets less Bull's Eyes and thus is more happy when he does. The difference in the damage is not that cirtical.
5. An item called "Bunny man" has been implemented. It can switch of the encounters for 2 minutes.
Hope I didn't break too much in this new version. I'm pretty sure, there will be at least some graphics displayed wrong or even be missing. If so, sorry and please report it.
Recommended Level is 14.
Useful Skills:
- Water resistance/ Defense +3 ... on the defense side
- and Blockbreaker/ Retarder on offense
A good strategy can be defending in the beginning till they use up their MP.
Hope you can squeeze in some grinding. Enemies get easier with every level. Just the "Protector" is a little tricky. Blockbreaker makes this one a lot easier.
Hope you find the motivation to play some more. You can also look up the walkthrough in the folder for some advice.

Thanks Nemau!
One more comment on the "custom graphics"-"feature". I actually wasn't gonna post a feature list. But in my home forum this has some kind of tradition.
And custom graphics is something that most RM games don't have and it's probably still something, that makes a game stand out from the rest.
But of course I agree, that it doesn't automatically make the game good.

@Alkanédon Thanks for sharing your opinion. Maybe my statement about what "most people want" was a little too arrogant, I'm sorry. But the "artwork" you talked about, is outdated. Please only refer to the facesets in the sceenshots or trailer.
I'm not sure, what you mean by "the 3D in your game is ugly". Maybe you could elaborate on that a little more.
Aaand also not sure, what your opinion on my "feature list" was or why in your opinion it disqualifies me as an artist. I mean, the list contains a few technical facts, sure, but, what about custom graphics, artworks and soundtrack?
Btw: this is one of my more recent blender artworks:
@Ashala
I understand the point of being very much involved in your own project and not wanting to invest time in testing others. Most of the time I'm like that myself. But recently I discoverd, that it can be very interesting to have a mutual test session. So, someones tests your game and you test their game. Can be very benefical for both projects.
@Cuddle
Well, I really didn't mean to upset you guys that much or blame you for not getting enough feedback.
However what you say is true: I gain most of my motivation not from feedback but from myself. BUT I still need or want a lot of feedback, because good quality feedback or critique is a mayor factor to improve a game and make it better accessable to more players.
Btw: I now added character description and a story summary.

silent majority
yeah, I guess that is part of todays attitude. but it's actually a little sad for authors who mostly suffer a great lack of feedback and testing. dunno about this community, but in my german "home com" most games are undertested. people mostly want to consume a finished product and not care much about it's development.
However this is understandable to some degree, too, considering the constant fight of media for the attention of users. Small indie developers have great competition.
I can just hope, that the project is gaining some momentum through all the communties I introduced it to, recently also registered to steam, but need to wait 30 days, till I can realese it. And hopefully the silent mass is there when I need them, to fund the game.

Right. You persuaded me. I added some screens in a spoiler. Although some of them are gifs. I feel like thats kinda state of the art or at least very common to post gifs.
btw: is it really that unusual for french people to play english games?

Maybe today is someday?
I mean, if you just wanna play it again and see what's changed and have fun with it, then I'd suggest you wait for the new release.
If you really wanna help me getting it bugfree and possibly improve the gameplay, then you could join the betatest. but that's not always fun. you'd have to try to provoke bugs and document everything with screenshots or even videos (that's what helps me most ^^).
It is really hard to find good, thorough testers.

Hello,
it's been a while. I'm currently testing a new demo and I'm looking for beta testers once again. The game is now running on easyrpg. A player is available for windows, mac and linux.
Altough this verison wont provide any new story material, quite a lot has changed.
I'm doing my artworks in Blender now:
Most of the changes on the graphics side:
But the battle system has been updated quite lot too. Complete change log on release. But for now I really need testers.
I dunno if I look in here frequently, so easiest would be to write an email:

Well hello and thanks for your feedback! Especially that you directly named the stuff that is bothering you. It's not very common that people are that open, but I think it's important for me.
nice, that you like the soundtrack!
now on the issue of "mixed graphic":
all graphics were made by myself and as you could certainly tell, some of the graphics are way older then others, which is in a way something that is bothering me too and it's also the case that I've already overworked some of the graphics several times. But it seems to be an endless cycle and in a way I feel like on the one hand I gotta keep a certain quality or stlye(which most of the stuff has imo) and on the other hand I feel like the only choice to keep this going is to just roll with the mix.
I dunno if I'm too lazy or feckless, but do not seem to be able to maintain a style for this game, which ... could be a style in a way too. so, it might be strange at first for some players like you, but maybe the mix could be the stlye for this game and players might get used to it or even appreciate it in a way... ^^ hope it's possible to understand. but of course you could see all this as an excuse for incompetency.
one character information:
I think my characters are kinda strange and I guess I want the player to find out about that strangeness. of course I could write stuff like Ramirez is shy and so on but I don't think anyone is benefitting from that. what I mentioned, that there is an element of tension between them should be enough.
my storytelling is probably kinda weird too, but this game is about weirdness and you will notice when you play. so I'm looking forward to you doing that and responding again.

Hey,
first things first: To eventually be able to complete this game, I'm going to launch a crowdfunding campaign around summer 2019. Exact date is going to be announced, of course.
Please also have a look at the crowdfunding concept: click
Most important about a crowdfunding is obviously the crowd, so you. That's why I try to find out, what you want. ^^ So please, if you played the game or you are generally interested in it, fill in this survey: SURVEY
The planets of the DEEP 8 universe are populated by different races like for example the mighty Droons with their green martialness, the furry Dominators, also called Summoners or the normally peace loving Dayigons, which is also the race, our protagonist Ramirez belongs too.
Ramirez might be the shyest individual, that you could ever encounter. So, if you play the game, maybe you should’nt try identifying with him, ’cause it probably wont work in most cases.
What also bothers him, is all these thoughts about women. He cannot help thinking about that but when it happens he allways forces himself to stop, for some reason.
Aside from being a social cripple, he’s a respectable fighter and reliable employee.
His female partner Meling is not a very pleasant companion. She’s barely talking to him and when she does, she usually does it in an insulting or humiliating way, which not really raises his confidence. Meling has long beautiful black hair, soft pale skin and nice boobs. That’s at least what Ramirez is thinking at some moments before prohibiting himself to do so.
Aside form being a real fury, Meling weilds a gigantic axe in battle, which enables her to crush any enemy they encouter.
Ramirez and Meling work for the emperor Vagnus of Antia. That is a big city on planet Lisarya, which is mostly populated by Dayigons.
For some weeks now, the people are very anxious, cause’ they seem to face a really great threat. They even have to fear the extinction of their race.
The Droons, allways known for martial behaviour seem to have set their mind to committing a genocide on the Dayigons. They used a weapon called Pluz-Cannon to vaporize several planets and raided others with ground forces. Now they are planning on destroying Lisarya as well with one big bang, but they ran out of the rare mineral Pluz. As soon as they find a new source for it, they would equip their cannon with it and blow up Lisarya immediately. Millions of Dayigons would be dust within a blink.
Now the Dayigons are a nation of lower techological standards and they are facing a superiority. But how hopeless the situation might be, they can’t give in. They try to think of some kind of defense plan against the Droons. For that purpose the unequal duo Ramirez and Meling is sent to an abandoned base of the Droons, where they are supposed to search for weapons or other useful stuff.
With constant tension between them, many awkard situations and in danger of being extinguished at any time, the story begins.
