Okay, so I've finally had some time to play Chain of Retribution, and gotta say I've loved every minute of it. I guess I'm about halfway through, I played for about four hours or so, for now I've stopped after reaching

Anyway, dialogues are fun and never boring, they have this way of lacking seriousness while remaining actually relevant, I like that. There's a lot of things to rummage through, random stuff like frog catching (who would even think about collecting frogs? Lol).
I like your gem system, too. The overall gameplay doesn't go out of its way in search of originality, but it's well thought-out and balanced. The pace is good, not having to regen is nice. The downside is that the game is - so far at least - really, really easy. I've reset the game a couple of times to switch gems for boss fights, but I'm yet to see a gameover screen.
Mapping is correct as well. I'm not saying it's great, but you can tell someone experienced is behind the scenery (I'm not sure if that counts as a pun or even means something in the first place ~). Bahamut Lagoon chars = .
There are some bugs though. A couple passability issues (mostly in the second town), and why in the world can't Siegmund use any Augments? I was also able to open a special chest without filling the encounters gauge. There is an encounter in the forest after the Crossroads that doesn't disappear after you fight the monsters, so you can fight it endlessly (and get endlessly trapped if it moves towards the hero).
Overall, it's a great game, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to play an RPG Maker game. Now I'm actually considering translating it regardless of its length, I know there are many people in the French community who would find it really enjoyable but can't or are reluctant to play it because they speak little/no English.
Lots of props to your team.
